Q

Why did you decide to come and work in Japan?

A

After graduation from my university , I couldn’t find a job.So I decided to move abroad. In 2016, studying abroad in Japan was very popular in Vietnam and many people were going to Japan for various reasons, so I thought I would like to go there too.
I also had Japanese language classes during college which sparks my interest in the Japanese language and culture.

Q

Why did you choose the nursing field? (caregiver/kaigo)

A

I have some friends who worked in the nursing field. At that time, I did not have any knowledge about the industry but as I listened to their stories I think the job fits me as I like interacting with the elderly.
The fact that the patient’s well being is at stake made me nervous but I was able to overcome that with the help from my co-workers.

Q

How did you find LIKE Staffing?

A

My teacher from the school introduced me to LIKE Staffing when I was looking for a job.

Q

How long did it take to land a job?

A

It did not take long to get the offering letter after the first interview. But since the visa application was a little bit longer than it should be, overall it took 2 months.

Q

What kind of support did you receive from LIKE Staffing during your job hunting process?

A

LIKE Staffing helped me a lot especially in setting up my first interview and the preparation of my visa application.
They took care of all the paperwork and even accompanied me to the Immigration office. I will always be grateful about that.

Q

What kind of support do you get from LIKE Staffing after you start working?

A

Since I've lived in Japan for a couple years when I met them, I usually do everything by myself and they would help me check whether I missed something (Taxes, Pension, Insurance etc.).
They also would hold a consultation session every three months to check whether I have some problems at work or at life in general.

Q

Could you tell us your goal?

A

I will do my best to pass the National Careworker Examination (介護福祉士試験) so that i can change my visa into Kaigo visa and continue to live in japan after the 5 year period.
